Hello and how-do, friendos!

Its the beginning of the end for this story arc, as we enter Varulv Book 4! Wilander has assumed power, the Ulven and Jarl Ulfir are imprisoned, and things are looking grim. But help may be on the way as Ragna and her mate, Gro’raan, make their way towards Blaidfästt with the intent to challenge its new would-be leader.

Guys I am absolutely stoked, today. I’m ready to get this last issue into your faces so we can print Volume I of Varulv in full! To that end, our IndieGoGo campaign has pre-launched and you can sign up to get updates, now:

We’re going fully live and accepting pledges on November 1st, 2024. This will be my final crowdfunding endeavor of the year, and also my biggest. That said, I haven’t made the goal so big it’s unattainable. We only have to raise $2,000 to get these books printed at their minimum quantity, and at $20 per book, that means I only need 100 folks at that level to sign-on! Cool!

Even if you can’t contribute, I hope you share our campaign! As you all probably know, I have been doing Varulv and freelancing as my full-time job since February. I hope to keep doing so in the next year, and your support has made it all possible thus far. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Varulv #4 Cover, Wiki and Crowdfunding in November

Hi guys!

I want to apologize for being a day late with the weekly update. A birthday party has taken over our house! So! Here’s a little something I know at least a few of you have been waiting for… the cover to Varulv #4!

I also updated a few items on the ol’ Varulv Wiki if you guys want to go over there and take a look. More to come in that department for sure, but the main cast now have their new profile pictures up and the beginnings of their new biographies.

Now, for the really big show… The announcement of our earth-shattering crowdfunding campaign for the print run on the Varulv Collected Edition Trade Paperback.

I need $2,000.

I told you it wasn’t going to be a lot. And with the book nearly done, it looks like we can get these puppies printed and shipped to you guys in the first half of 2025 (if not the first quarter). I also have some groovy extras to throw in – original art, sketch cover editions of Varulv #1 with sketches, stickers, prints, and more. But yeah… there it is… the “big number” I’ll be trying to hit.

I’ll be setting up the campaign throughout October and launching in November! I foresee a $20 price tag (plus tax and shipping, please) for those of you who want to get just the book for yourselves. And of course, I’m happy to sign them, free of charge. That said, I feel this goal is more than attainable and I very much look forward to bringing Varulv’s first TPB to life!

The Final Pages of Issue 3 — 22-24, Updated

Hello and hello, dear readers!

This is it! The last pages of Chapter 3 are upon us. As you know, things weren’t looking too great for our heroes when last we checked in with them… and as of this update, the situation might have gone from bad to worse! But is there perhaps hope on the horizon for an unexpected ally? Read on to find out in the conclusion to Varulv #3!

With book three of the Varulv saga now put away, it’s time to start thinking about the epic finale to our little story, here. As you might recall from previous updates, Varulv #4 will be the last issue of the first volume, and your friendly neighborhood indie publisher has been preparing not only to bring you a conclusion, but a print edition of the series thus far, as well!

As you know, we’ve done two very successful pre-order runs for our various Varulv printing projects, and for this last one, I’d like to run a slightly bigger campaign. I’m currently pricing things out, but come November, I not only want to wrap up Varulv #4, but do some crowdfunding to get a Varulv trade paperback in the hands of my readers and potentially, wider distribution as well. Stay tuned, because as it stands, it’s not going to take much, and as always, I plan to have some very cool incentives for you guys if you want one!

For those of you who ordered Varulv Art books — After a challenging time navigating a driveway overhaul, I finally got them in the mail this past week! Look for them soon, and expect a few little bonus thank-you gifts alongside your comics! I hope you enjoy!

Issue #4 will begin in October — until then, keep joining me here on Fridays for more updates, art, and behind-the-scenes looks at our final issue! Groovy!

Hard to believe we’ve only got two more updates to go before this book concludes! It’s crazy to think that summer is now winding down and we’ll soon be chronicling the very last issue of this volume! And with that in mind…

With Varulv wrapping up its first story arc by the end of the year, I have been coming up with new ways to keep my very kind supporters involved in my creative process, and to that end, will soon be offering original art, prints, stickers, sketches and more to my Patrons at select tiers! And on the subject of stuff coming in the mail — I’m nearly done with the sketch covers to all the Artbooks, and will be sending them to their homes, shortly! Big news on the Artbook front as well! The books have arrived and I’m ready to start drawing all over them! For those of you who ordered, my goal is to complete the sketches and have them all in the mail, next week! I’ll keep you posted!

Also, hot off the presses – Varulv Issue #2 proofs came in the mail and they looked awesome! Those of you collecting the individual floppies of each issue can look forward to getting your very own, soon. These puppies will be available for purchase on our IndyPlanet store in the coming weeks!

As some of you were made aware yesterday – our plans for Artbooks have hit a bit of a snag in production, but it seems there will only be a small delay in shipping! I’ve placed the order with a different printer as of last night, and we’re back on track to get the books in your hands by mid-August! If you purchased a printed Artbook, make sure you sign in to your Gumroad account so you can enjoy the digital copy in the meantime, and also so you can read up on all the details!

In other news, I’m heading to a small convention at the James V. Brown Library in Williamsport, tomorrow! Come say hi if you’re in the area — I’ll have coloring pages, will be doing sketches, and more! This will be a family-friendly event, so bring the little ones, too!

Varulv Issue #3 Begins Now! Pages 1-3 Uploaded!

Hello and well-met, friendos!

I can hardly believe it, but today begins the first updates of Varulv issue #3! We join our heroes once again as the conflict between the Trolls, Iele, and the villagers of Blaidfästt approaches an all-out war. The Jarl has been unseated and our werewolfy good guys are already being forced to meet the opposition head-on. Needless to say, there’s lots of action ahead!

In other news, I’m waiting for my prints of Varulv Artbooks and Issue #2 to be ready at the printer! Next week, I’ll also be heading to a local convention at the James V. Brown Library here in Williamsport Pennsylvania! If you too, are local, feel free to come by and say hello! More on that, next week!

More cool stuff is on the horizon that I’m not at liberty to talk about just yet, and my schedule has admittedly gotten quite packed this summer, so lots of things are still being worked on behind-the-scenes which I can’t share just yet. I thought now would therefore be as good a time as any to promote my Patreon Page, where you can get exclusive looks at some of those behind-the-scenes things, hi-res compilations of the books, and much more. I’m doing a ton of freelance work and anything you guys want to throw at me on as a one-time or monthly donation is always appreciated and helps to keep the series going and free to read!

In the meantime, I’m thrilled to be starting our third issue of the series, and know you’re going to love all the groovy things I’ve got planned that are just around the bend!
